The following images display the equipment that is used to manufacture molds at KB Duplicating. KB Duplicating has invested in the latest machine technologies to produce high quality molds and trim tools as quickly as possible. |
The image above displays KB Duplicating's VS50 high speed machining center. This machining center is equipped with a 20,000 rpm spindle and table X Y rapid traverse of 1575 ipm. The machining envelope is 40 X 20 X 17.5". This High speed machine allows KB Duplicating to machine inserts much faster than with a conventional CNC machining center. |
The image above displays one of KB Duplicating's Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) centers equipped with an Orbi-Cut System head. The Orbi-Cut system orbits the sinking electrode to keep burns within tolerance as the electrode wears, resulting in less electrode changes per burn. KB Duplicating has 4 EDM centers as well as a Wire EDM center allowing multiple EDM operations to be completed in parallel. The Wire EDM center also increases KB's trim tool capability. |
Above is KB's CNC Vertical Machining Center equipped with a 7,500rpm spindle, a 400ipm rapid traverse and a 20 x 30 x 20" machining envelope. |
Above is KB's EDM department. Four EDM centers and one wire EDM center are ready to manufacture your next mold or trim tool. |
Above is KB's general machining department. Multiple vertical mills and CNC mills as well as a lathe are present. KB is also equipped with a large surface grinder. |
Above tool paths are verified and optimized with the latest CAM packages to maximize machine utilization and eliminate tool crashes. |
KB Duplicating uses the following CAD/CAM software packages: Power Mill, AutoCAD, TekSoft and SolidWorks. These packages allow a wide range of file formats to be imported and used for mold and trim tool designs and construction. KB Duplicating prefers CAD files in the following formats: 3D IGES surfaces or solids, and 2D DXF or IGES. |
